About J's gym, wing chun lineage, etc.
What lineage is j's gym?
In short Yip Man lineage. Head-instructor Jesper learned Leung Ting style wing chun (and EBMAS, a Leung Ting derivative) but he has come to believe that wing chun is wing chun no matter the lineage.
Our foremost goal at J's GYM is to make our wing chun as effective as possible.
The training is focused on continuously testing our techniques and beliefs about fighting.

When did j's gym start teaching in japan?
J's GYM started in 2005 though under a different name. We have continued to grown and are now probably the biggest gym in Japan with more experienced students and assistant trainers than anywhere else.
About trial lessons, private lessons, etc.
what do i need to bring for a trial lesson?
Any clothes that you feel comfortable working out in will do.
do i need shoes?
No, shoes are not necessary for the trial lesson but if decide to you join J's GYM, you should consider getting a pair of training shoes since wing chun is trained best with shoes on. Wrestling shoes, boxing shoes, kung fu shoes or any other shoes that have a soft sole are all good for wing chun training. Please don't use running shoes or any other shoes with hard soles, etc. since they are rough on the mats and on the feet of those students who are not wearing shoes.
how do i ask for a private lesson?
Please write an e-mail suggesting 2-3 dates and the preferred time slot for the lesson. You can order a private lesson on any day of the week and any time of the day is ok (Mon-Sun, 10am-10pm).
Feel free to call if you have any questions not answered on the websites, but please make your reservation for a lesson by e-mail (only the first time).

About attendance, training progress, etc.
- wing chun and jkd
- wing chun and bruce lee
- You're placed bit far away from where I live. Do you know of any place that teaches Wing Chun closer to where I live?
I'd like to think that they choose us for a reason. At least give us a try before you let distance decide where to train.
It's FREE the first time and you might like it.
Besides, wing chun is not just wing chun. Even though the name is the same the teaching method varies a lot from teacher to teacher!
- I can only attend 2 times a month or perhaps once a week. Is that enough?
